This image is showing a cliff/coastline. It has captured the blue tone of the water and the brown tones of the surrounding rock of the cliffs. This shows the side of a destination which would appeal more to adventureous people due to the rocky terrain.
This image is capturing a more tourist approach to destinations, it is clear that John was visiting Venice Beach and the two models decided to use the face frame in order to capture an extremely touristy approach to travel photography.
This image is capturing a dark cloud which is slowly filling the sky, this photograph is showing the journey that the clouds takes as they are filled with more water vapour and hence get darker as this image has captured the clouds before a storm.
This image is showing an elephant from India who has been painted with orange paint in order to be used as a tourist attraction/for a festival. I like how this image has managed to capture the culture which can commonly be found in India etc without the use of human models.
I found Johns work influencing, as he shoots such a wide variety of topics and yet they can all be related back to journey as he has taken a journey around the world in order to capture all of these images.
In summary i have found John's work inspiring as it does not need to show the typical elements of a destination in order to show the journey, in fact the animals living in the destinations and the weather that is present there can also be used as a good way to show the journey.
