Photographer 2

Ronya Galka is a German photographer who moved to London to follow her dream of becoming an urban street photographer. Her work carries a unique style in which she uses several different techniques such as blurring in order to create such eye catching images.

This image was taken at Leicester Square, i know this because it has captured the bright lights of 'M&M World' in the background. The main focus of the image is the leaf which is in the foreground of the image as it is the only thing in focus, all of the lights in the background are blurred out and this creates a bold city landscape.

This image again uses the technique of blurring, as the tree with pink flowers to the right are in foucs and the rest of the London background are blurred, there have been a stereotypical red London bus in the background, and this is how it is a clear indicator that the background is in London.

This photograph is showing St Paul's Cathedral from across the River Thames, in the photograph it has captured the lights which are hanging in the trees which are lined up along the side of the wall of the river bank. I like the way that the lights have been blurred out in order to put the main focus of the image onto the green cathedral in the background.

This is another photograph which was taken in Leicester Square, it has got the large advertising screen in the back ground however this is the main focus of the image even though their is a arch for the underground which is in front of the advertising board, however this has been blurred out but not so much that it is no longer a visible object.

I feel Ronya has influenced my work as i would like to also do a shoot in and around London in order to try and capture some of the urban life that has been shown in the work of Royna. I feel like her work represents the location which is at the end of a journey.

In summary i like Ronya's style of work as she captures a very urban side to London and i like her use of blurring as i feel it helps draw attention to some of the main elements which are typical to London.
