Shoot 1 - Car Journey - Work Diary
In this shoot i was photographing the scenery from within a car on a journey to and from Horsham. The series of images capture the different things outside the car whilst capturing the change in the time of day as the sky/background gets darker as the images progress.
Several of my images are shot from inside the car whilst capturing the wing mirror as this shows the reflection behind the car whilst also showing the surroundings of the car. I like the effect this has as the surroundings tend to be blurred whilst the reflection is the only element that is in focus. This image on the left, demonstrates this. As the car was moving the camera captured the outside scenery as the car moved and so it creates a blurring effect. As the wing mirror was the area of the image that was the focus of the image, the reflection down the side of the car is clear and sharp. I like this image as it captures what is behind the car and again what is behind the car.

For several of my images i also changed the shutter speeds as it got darker. This was to experiment with some light movement photography. Some of the images capture worked better than others as i altered the shutter speeds to see which ones worked best. In the image on the left, it captures the road lights and car lights appearing to be one line as i captured the image as the car was moving beneath them.
If i was to re-do this shoot or to do a similar shoot i would like to experiment with more of the light photography as i like the overall effect that these have on the final image. I may go to a bridge over the motorway and capture some more similar images to this. It would capture the journey of many cars and the travel of light. I would also like to do more of the wing mirror images as i also like the effects these have.
In my next shoot, i will be walking around Brighton capturing the location of the seaside town as i feel this would show the personality of the town.
